Adult Fitness (16+)


Join us for a variety of fitness classes for ages 16+. We offer classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Cardio and Strength, and Group Nutrition.

Call some friends, put on some comfortable clothing, grab a mat, grab your water bottle, and join us!

Arts and Crafts

We offer arts classes for all ages (5 and up). Students can learn to draw cartoons, learn to draw animals, graphic design, acrylic painting, colored pencils and many more techniques!. We have something FUN for everyone!

We offer classes with Young Rembrandts, Donna Roskamp, and Neal Levin.


PLEASE NOTE: The printed brochure includes after school Young Rembrandts classes at Brummer and Salem. Due to unforeseen circumstances those programs are no longer available for fall.

Are you 11 years old or older and want to get certified for babysitting? Teens will learn great babysitting games, answers to common questions, how to stop sibling squabbling, meal time tips, first aid, diaper duties and much more! This class is guaranteed to be fun and exciting for all kids! Each participant will receive a certificate of completion through Heartbeat LLC and certification through the American Heart Association.

Do you want to create great memories with family and friends? Pinz Bowling Center is the destination for family fun. They feature 28 state of the art bowling lanes with automatic bumpers just for kids.

They offer activities for all ages! Classes/leagues include Middle School Bowling Club, Family Doubles, Pizza Pals, Pizza Bumpers, and Zookeepers Bowling.

Bricks 4 Kids - Lego


Join Bricks 4 Kidz for a Lego® S.T.E.M. experience! There projects, designed by engineers and architects, motivate children by reinforcing S.T.E.M. based principles while enhancing self-esteem, improving fine motor skills, and teaching important math skills. There Lego® models use axles, pulleys, gears and are fully MOTORIZED.  They will build vehicles, contraptions, inventions, animals and much more. Come join the educational fun! Champion Force Athletics is a fun and exciting cheer program for students ages 4 — 18 with or without previous experience. Students will learn jumps, kicks, arm motions, stunting, cheers and chants, and learn a pom dance routine. Students will learn the necessary skills needed for school cheerleading try-outs. Our program works to build self confidence, poise, self esteem, and physical fitness.

We offer classes and camps through The Studio which has been rated as a "People's Choice" award winner for the area's top dance studio. They are committed to offering programs designed to strengthen the body and mind, build self confidence and teach discipline in unique and creative ways. Dance classes for ages 2 ½ to 18! There are classes for all ages and all types of styles. Join The Studio for Bounce and Boogie, Everything Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and much more. NEW are classes through the Center for Performing Arts and Learning in Wixom. They are offering classes such as Acro Yoga, Aerial Silks, Ballet for Adults, Bollywood for all ages, Capoeira, Dance and Drum and Tap for all ages.

This sport involves the performance of exercises requiring physical strength, flexibility, power, agility, coordination, and balance.  Jayne Lapham has 30+ years of teaching experience.  Jayne's accomplishments include 2nd in the MAG State Finals on the balance beam.  She has competed in both the U.S. and Canada.  Jayne teaches at Levels 1, 2 and 3 with smaller class sizes.

Horseback Riding


SLARA partners with Wildwind Equestrian Center for a variety of equestrian classes. Wildwind was awarded the Observer Newspaper Best Stable for 6 years in a row and it is right here in South Lyon! Wildwind Equestrian Center is owned by head trainer Vikki Gartner and business manager Cindy Richards. The classes and camps range from Tiny Tot Lessons (ages 4-6) to Senior riding Lessons (ages 50+). For more detailed course descriptions, please visit

Ice Skating/Hockey


The USA Hockey Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Plymouth Township. Originally known as Compuware Sports Arena, it was renamed to USA Hockey Arena in 2015 when the USA Hockey Foundation purchased the arena. They offer both Learn to Skate (ages 3 and up) and Learn to Play Hockey (ages 6 and up). Beginner skaters are introduced to the basic skating technique in a safe and controlled environment. Each class session is progressive, building upon skills taught in the previous session.  Hockey students will be evaluated during the first class and divided into groups based on skill level and age.  Emphasis will be on stick handling, passing and shooting.  Must have proper hockey equipment.

Mad Science

Mad Science of Detroit is part of a network of locations around the world, who bring science education to millions of children each year. There innovative programs help kids learn about science through their fun after school programs, preschool programs, and camps.

Mad Science encourages scientific literacy in children in an age when science is as vital as reading, writing and arithmetic and we don’t stop there.

For 30 years, the Mad Science group has invested in research and development and continues to do so. They believe in the importance of being at the forefront of our industry and continue to create hands-on science programming for kids.

Martial Arts

Martial arts aids in the development of character and mental strength.  We offer Choi Kwang-Do and Tae Kwon Do for all ages. Classes are for ages 3 thru Adult and are taught in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Musical Theatre


NEW This musical theatre workshop will focus on a variety of dance techniques, group and individual singing techniques, basic and intermediate theater, public speaking skills, improvisation, as well as other performing arts techniques. The session will end with a culminating performance where parents, friends, and family can come see the tools and skills as well as scenes, songs and dances that the students will learn with us. Choreographed and directed by Lauren Neuman-The Traveling Trainers. Session 1 is CoCo and Session 2 is The Incredibles 1 & 2.

Learn to sew by choosing from a variety of workshops geared toward the beginner student.  All classes are suitable for a parent and child to take together. Students need to bring their own sewing machine and manual. Please bring all supplies to class. A detailed supply list will be emailed after registration.

NEW Dedicated to promoting education, creativity, and enrichment by providing hands-on arts, cultural, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) experiences to children and adults living in Western Oakland County and Livingston County in Southeastern Michigan. Creative MIEL offers an exciting opportunity for kids to engage and explore their intellectual curiosity through activities that promote imagination, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership. Creative MIEL was founded by Heather-Marie Montilla, a dynamic integrative leader, who has made a positive impact in arts, cultural, educational, and community building institutions for nearly 20 years. Tumble Bunnies

NEW Tumble Bunnies!  Each of their programs promotes confidence, self-esteem, coordination, courage & FUN for every child. Their unique style of teaching encourages learning and bubbles energetically with non-stop activity. Each of their positive, enthusiastic and energetic programs consists of age appropriate, unique lesson plans that enable successful learning through physical and mental movement. 

They offer Music classes for ages 3 - 7, Karate for ages 3 - 12, and Zumba for ages 3 - 12.

Yoga for Kids

NEW Yoga for Kids (ages 6 - 11).  Join Lisa Roenheber, founder of Exceptional Teacher and educator for 18 years, in yoga instruction for kids. In this 8 week course, your child will learn basic yoga breathing, postures, games, and relaxation techniques. Students will learn simple yoga and when and how to use it in their daily lives. Please bring your own yoga mat and water bottle to class.
