Notice to Participants
All participants are subject to the South Lyon Area Recreation Authority Code of Conduct. If you wish to review the Code of Conduct, please click " here". SLARA programs are offered to all persons without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, age, creed or ability. SLARA encourages the participation of individuals with disabilities. In compliance with teh Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990, we will make reasonable efforts to accomodate participants with disabilities for our programs. For assistance, call 248-437-8105 at least seven days prior to the program or event. All athletic and recreational activities involve some risk of accident or injury. SLARA does not provide insurance nor does it assume responsibility for accidents or injuries. Participation in this program and the use of equipment is at your own risk.
Allergy Info
Please be sure to let us know if you and/or your child have any food allergies or restrictions. We will make reasonable efforts to accomodate participants with food allergies. you may be asked to provide your own food snack.
Resident Policy
The South Lyon Area Recreation Authority service area encompasses all of Green Oak Township, the Charter Township of Lyon and the City of South Lyon. Any person residing within the boundries of these municipalities will be considered a "resident". Anyone who resides outside of these municipalities will be considered a "non-resident" and required to pay an additional non-resident surcharge in order to participate in programs.
Non-Resident Fee
An additional 25% of the class fee or minimum fee of $5 per person is charged to those participants residing outside the defined service area.
Inclement Weather Policy
When South Lyon schools are closed all SLARA programs held at a South Lyon schools will be cancelled. If your class is being held at another facility, please call that facility directly to check the status of your class. The SLARA office will make every attemp to remain open and stay as close to reguarly scheduled business hours as possible during snow storms and other weather emergencies. We encourage you to call ahead to determine the operational status of the SLARA office when there appears to be reason for weather related institutional delays and/or closures.
Refund Policy
All refund requests with the exception of Youth Sports Leagues and Camps are charged a $5.00 processing fee per class. No refunds will be given after 3:00 pm on the last working day prior to the second scheduled class/activity. There are no refunds for classes that meet only one time, unless the refund request is recieved two or more working days prior to the day of the class/activity. No refunds will be given for teh following: material fees, special events or tickets. NOTE: There is a non-refundable $4 administrative fee whenever you use Discover/Visa/Mc.
For a refund, please follow these steps:
1) Call the Recreation Office immediately to allow time for someone else to register for the class
2) All requests must be made before 3:00 pm on the last working day prior to the beginning of the 2nd scheduled class.
NOTE: Refund requests for Camps must be made before 3:00 pm on the first day of Camp. The cost of the first day plus a $5 processing fee will be charged. No refunds will be given after 3:00 pm on the 1st day of Camp.
NOTE: For Youth Sports Leagues there is a registration deadline. Any refunds requested after the registration deadline and before 3:00 pm on the last working day prior to the beginning of the first scheduled game or practice, will be subjected to a $15 processing fee. No refunds will be given after first scheduled game or practice.
Refunds will be paid in full when classes are cancelled by SLARA. There is no refund or reduction of fees for classes missed by students. No refunds are paid in cash. Refunds take 2-3 weeks to process. If classes are cancelled by SLARA and were paid for by credit card, the $4 processing fee will be refunded to you.
If class is cancelled due to weather, mechanical failure or other unexpected problems, an effort will be made to schedule a make-up. If it is not possible to provide a make-up, no partial refunds will be given. |
